Every Monday night, it’s Music Mondays at the Desert Fox Bar. This trio headed by Symara Stone on guitar, played a wide range of music, from pop to jazz, with real verve. So much excellent talent right here in the desert, in Palm Springs, at the Desert Fox Bar!

Lately, we’ve been seeing alot of exuberance at the bar, which includes dancing on top of the bar!

Some people still gotta have their smokes, so they go outside, and bring the dog, too!

Symara Stone, a talented local musician who plays at many venues around the Coachella Valley, entertained her audience, while singing and playing her guitar with skill.

All in All, it was just another fun-filled Music Monday at the Desert Fox Bar!

Lord Green is commanded by The Queen to invite All Friends of the Desert Fox Bar to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton at the Desert Fox Bar on Sunday, May 1, starting a 6:30pm.  We will be showing the Royal Wedding on two screens, and offering Champagne, British drink specials and British brews at discounted prices. No cover. No-host bar. Tasty Appetizers will be available. Dress with a royal and/or British Flair.  Fun Made-in-England prizes for best costumes! Women are encouraged to wear hats or tiaras, and men encouraged to wear tophats, tails or kilts. Feel free to bring your friends and toast to the royal newlyweds and also in the memory of Princess Diana.

Mark your calendars! The Desert Fox Bar is pleased to present singing sensation & Latin percussionist Viki Dee next Saturday night, Feb. 26, from 7:30 – 8:30 pm.  This is a special One Night Only gig since she is jetting off to the East Coast to perform in venues there. She plays top venues from the East Coast to the West Coast, and you don’t want to miss her!  No cover charge. See you there!

New Year’s Eve at the Desert Fox Bar was lively and fun with pianist-singer David Hirsch at the piano, and with CDs of favorites in the background.  We had regulars and new desert foxes too, to help ring in 2011.

Soon we’ll be carrying Blue Lotus, a drink with blue lotus and based on an ancient Egyptian recipe reputed to have health benefits, and we’ll be splashing that into the Mega-Yacht Martini too!

Mark and I would like to welcome you to the Desert Fox Bar for a mellow New Year’s Eve featuring the live music of virtuoso piano player David Hirsch at the piano.  David also plays the piano regularly at the famous Riviera Hotel, also in Palm Springs, just a mile or so west of the Desert Fox Bar.  There are many hotels around the Desert Fox Bar in case you want to play it safe.  We’re right across the street from the Hyatt and also, of course, the Andreas Hotel is behind and above the Desert Fox Bar.

Open Mic at the Desert Fox Bar starting up again on Tuesdays, starting on December 14.  Please call 760-587-6009 if you want to play! We have a piano at the bar for you pianists. Only acoustic music allowed. Since it’s a small bar, a four person band is probably the max. We’ve had pianist, horn players, drummers, guitarists  and singers! If you have talent, you are welcome!

In the meantime, coming on Thursday, December 9th, we are going to feature a local band (a surprise!) AND piano player extraordinaire Brian Palmer, who can play any song he hears just like that.  Amazing! The music starts around 7:30 pm.

Knut Erik Jensen in Koncert at The Desert Fox Bar. The Desert Fox Bar was proud to present this very special event on Sunday, Nov. 21, which began just after 7pm and lasted for about an hour and a half, with a few breaks. Knut Erik Jensen played classical compositions by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and also by “The Evergreens”, as Knut calls the most popular composers such as Beevthoven and Chopin.

The audience was very appreciative of Knut’s masterful playing of some of the best classical musical compositions in the world right at the Desert Fox Bar in downtown Palm Springs.

Ladies’ Luncheon and Fashion Show coming up at the Desert Fox Bar, showcasing the unique creations of V & G Hipwear, owned by Valohna and Gayle, pictured above, who are local artisans based in Rancho Mirage.

Gayle herself will wiggle her way around us as she showcases not only her fabulous hipwear fashions, but also her superb belly-dancing skills to the mesmerizing sound of Middle Eastern music.

Complimentary Middle Eastern food will be served, and there will be a no-host bar.  So mark your calendars for this Friday, Nov. 12, starting at noon and lasting until 2 at the latest.  No cover charge for this event.  Feel free to invite your gal friends.

You will be able to buy or order one (or more) from the V & G Hipwear collection if you are moved to do so.  They are versatile and can be worn as a belt, a skirt or a shawl.  They are made of soft lambskin and dyed in a variety of shimmering shades of colors, often fringed as well as embellished with a jewel.  Their website is http://www.vandghipwear.com where you can find out more details about the hipwear, which is hand-crafted right in Rancho Mirage, with the intention “to empower women” and the goddess within.  As per their website, their “intention is that each piece be a living expression of gratitude.”
